Abstract

This essay seeks to both explain and critique Lynn Ellsworth’s critique of YIMBYism. Part I of this review focuses on Ellsworth’s primary concern: a fear of the alleged destructive effect of dense neighborhoods and tall buildings. Part II addresses her attempts to deny the link between increased housing construction and lower housing costs. Part III addresses her alternative solutions to New York’s housing crisis.
