Abstract
Recent decades have seen the emergence of comparative law, both as an important area of American legal practice and as a significant field of academic study in American law schools and universities. The comparative study of Jewish law and American law stands out as a particularly notable avenue of inquiry, gaining substantial prominence among legal scholars and garnering considerable interest among broader audiences. The chapters in this book turn to Jewish law to provide insights into substantive and conceptual areas of the American legal system, particularly areas of American law that are complex, controversial, and unsettled.
